Robert Ian Goodman is a practicing lawyer in the areas of commercial domestic and international litigation, business law, immigration law, employment law, and international trade law. He is principal attorney of Goodman Law, a sole-proprietorship, based in Westchester County, New York and is co-director of Choudhury-Goodman Immigration and Commercial Law Affiliates, an affiliation between Goodman Law and H. Taufiq Choudhury, P.C., a New York City based law firm concentrating in the practice of immigration law.

Mr. Goodman has represented companies both in the capacity of litigation counsel and outside general counsel. He has experience in the areas of negotiation, mediation, arbitration as well as trial and appellate work on the state and Federal levels. He also provides consulting services to law firms in the areas of international commercial law and immigration law. He currently serves as outside general counsel to Intervest Technologies, LLC and related companies. He also counsels a variety of start up and more established businesses and investor groups and serves as immigration counsel to a diverse array of businesses.

Mr. Goodman graduated summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, from Tufts University, Medford Massachusetts, with a BA in International Relations in 1986 and in 1990 graduated from the Columbia University School of Law. He is currently a member of the Westchester Bar Association, the World Trade Council of the Westchester County Association, Westchester Network Partners, and the American Immigration Lawyers’ Association.

Mr. Goodman is admitted to practice law in the State of New York and the District of Columbia as well as in the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, the U.S. Second Circuit Court of Appeals and the U.S. Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals. He is a sponsor, along with Howard Schiffman, Esq., Clinical Associate Professor of Global Affairs at New York University, of the award winning educational website, InternationaLawHelp.com, and is currently involved in a number of projects to promote the study of entrepreneurship and advance the cause of international legal education.

H. Taufiq Choudhury
H. Taufiq Choudhury was admitted to the New York Bar in 1991. He received his legal education at Kyiv National University, Ukraine (LL.M. in International Law, 1981), Europa Institute of the University of Amsterdam (Post-Graduate Diploma in European Intergration, 1986), and in the United States at the University of Georgia School of Law (LL.M., 1988).

Mr. Choudhury's nation-wide practice concentrates on employment/business-based immigration. His clientele includes Information Technology consulting companies, financial institutions, healthcare facilities and academic institutions. He counsels businesses on compliance with immigration record creation and maintenance and on the hiring and retention of non-citizens. As a participant in C-G Immigration and Commercial Law Affilates, he also advises businesses on various international legal transactions.

Mr. Choudhury has published numerous articles on immigration issues in regional publications and has given interviews on developments in the immigration field to broadcast and print media including the British Broadcasting Corporation. He has spoken on numerous issues concerning developments in the immigration field before community groups.

Mr. Choudhury has served as Special Counsel to the Consul General of Bangladesh in New York on immigration matters and has represented the Consul's office in discussions with Department of Homeland Security officials in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
